It appears the rumors were true. Following weeks of speculation that Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom were privately shopping their home in Tarzana, a neighborhood of Los Angeles, we finally have proof that the celebrity couple are looking to sell: Their mansion on Ashurst Lane has officially hit the MLS.
Back in November, Kardashian took to Twitter to dispute claims that she and her embattled husband were quietly shopping their longtime Tarzana residence as a pocket listing. But apparently she’s had a change of heart. Lauren Beale of the Los Angeles Times broke the news that the couple’s home has indeed hit the market for $5.499 million.
It was previously believed that Khloe and Lamar were looking to roughly break even on the home they purchased together in the fall of 2009. However, they stand to pocket nearly $1.5 million more than what they paid for the Mediterranean manse of 8,000 square feet if they can get their current asking price.
Found in the upscale guard-gated community of Mulholland Estates, the compound is situated on a three-quarter-acre cul-de-sac lot within the private enclave. The home features six en-suite bedrooms that sport designer wallpaper, tumbled stone and mosaic accents. The master suite comes complete with a spa-like bath, a mosaic-tiled fireplace and sprawling city views.
Other amenities include a home gym, a library, an office and a theater room. Outside, the grounds have a swimming pool with water features, fire pits and spa, a large lounge area and an outdoor kitchen. A front motor court affords parking for 15 vehicles.
The listing comes nearly three months after a Miami mansion owned by Odom surfaced on the rental market for $17,000 a month. Odom acquired the palatial Pinecrest property for $3 million in the summer of 2009, when the then-free-agent forward was being courted heavily by the Miami Heat and bride-to-be Khloe Kardashian was preparing to launch the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” spin-off, “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.” He eventually re-upped with the Los Angeles Lakers on a four-year, $33 million pact, but evidently opted to keep the South Beach residence.
Previously, Odom and Kardashian found themselves on the opposite end of the rental spectrum, when in 2012 they rented a Dallas high-rise unit from Mack Hicks, the son of Texas Rangers owner and area business magnate Tom Hicks. And before Khloe was in the picture, single Lamar was kicking it in and later renting out this Mediterranean love shack in Manhattan Beach.
Odom began playing in the NBA in 1999 for the Los Angeles Clippers. After stints with the Miami Heat, Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, he returned to the Clippers for the 2012-13 season. He is currently a free agent.
